Dennise Trotter

Dennise came to the Chico Animal Hospital as an intern through the ROP Veterinary Assisting Program. After her graduation in July 1992, she joined the Chico Animal Hospital team and has been here since. She has worked in all areas of the hospital, but now she can be found up front working the reception desk.
When Dennise is not working, you can find her cooking for friends and family, exploring Bidwell Park, or visiting the wine regions with her husband, Bryan.

Our Registered Veterinary Technicians:

Denise Beltran

Denise joined the staff at the Chico Animal Hospital in February 2007. A local of Chico, she graduated from Chico Senor High in 1986, where she was also a graduate of the first ROP Animal Health course. This class solidified Denise’s decision to pursue a career in the veterinary field. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician course at Western Career College in 1987, and passed the State Board exam the same year. She has been working as a Registered Veterinary Technician ever since.

Denise’s daily responsibilities include managing our surgical patients, performing anesthesia, doing dental cleanings and caring for hospitalized patients. Along with our other technician and assistants, she maintains her own schedule of technician appointments. She appreciates the interaction she has with our clients and their four-legged family members. She enjoys being able to educate the new pet owner as well as assisting clients with keeping their senior pets happy and healthy.

Denise spends her free time with her finace, friends, and family. She likes live music, reality TV, and getting away to her “happy place,” Lake Tahoe.

Our Kennel Staff:

Tish McLaughlin

Tish, or Mom as she is known to everyone at the clinic, joined the Chico Animal Hospital in 1992 as an animal caregiver. If you have ever had the pleasure of having your pet stay at our clinic or boarding facility, you will know what great care and personal attention that she gives each and every animal staying here. We have many clients who tell us that they can tell that their pet is looking forward to staying at the clinic so that they can play with Auntie Tish. We feel very fortunate that she is part of the hospital staff.

Tish has three daughters, one son, and five grandsons. When she is not working at the clinic, or playing grandmother, Tish enjoys gardening (just give her some dirt and watch her go!!,) and cooking.

Jessica Hayes

Jessica Hayes is one of our newest staff members, joining our team as a kennel assistant in June 2018. She joined our team because she loves animals and enjoys working closely with each of our client’s pet companions. As a kennel assistant she attends to the needs of all the boarding animals and loves getting to know all of their individual personalities. After graduating from Butte College in 2016 Jessica transferred to Chico State and is now working on her bachelor’s degree in Biological Ecology, and Zoology Sciences. Her career plan is to work as a zoologist to closely research animals in their natural environment.

In her spare time Jessica enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her pet companions that include her cat (Xena), Jackson chameleon (Loki), two guinea pigs (Nala and Kartoshka), two tarantulas (Sapphire and Quartz), argentine tegu, and axolotl.

Caitlyn Hunt

Caitlyn Hunt is one of our newest team members. Caitlyn grew up in Chico. At 21 she moved to the bay area to explore new places and be near her brother. For ten years she worked in various humane societies and dog daycares, learning all she could about animal behavior and care.
Now she is back in Chico doing what she loves - working with animals and great people. In her spare time she loves walking through the park, watching movies with friends or finding new great coffee spots with her sister.
